The Supreme Court delivered its verdict in the matter pertaining to the repayment of AGR(adjusted gross revenue) dues by telecom companies on 1st September. The bench of Justices Arun Mishra, S Abdul Nazeer and MR Shah allowed a 10-year timeline for payment of AGR dues by telecom companies, will begin from April 1, 2021.

The development comes as a relief for Vodafone Idea Ltd, for which survival would have been a concern had the apex court not agreed to a staggered payment schedule. The company owes over ₹58,000 crore in AGR dues.
