Trac Precision Solutions Limited, part of the PTC Industries Group, has entered into a five-year memorandum of understanding with Finland-based Coolbrook Oy to manufacture components for Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater technology. Under the structured framework, Coolbrook intends to appoint Trac as its preferred machining partner for aerofoil machining, supporting the manufacture of first-generation RDH units and subsequent industrial scale-up.
The collaboration encompasses early-stage Design for Manufacture cooperation, production readiness initiatives, and support for future design optimisation. Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater technology can reach temperatures up to 1,700°C and is designed to electrify high-temperature industrial processes in traditionally hard-to-abate sectors such as steel, cement, petrochemicals, and chemicals. The technology aims to reduce CO₂ emissions across energy-intensive industries by replacing fossil fuel combustion.
The MoU establishes cooperation across manufacture of selected first-generation RotoDynamic Heater components, integrated Design for Manufacture collaboration to optimise scalability, alignment with Coolbrook’s commercial and technology deployment roadmap, and long-term production partnership over a five-year horizon. Trac will engage at the design stage with Coolbrook’s engineering teams to enhance manufacturability, improve production efficiency, and support industrialisation at scale.
Liam Bevington, managing director of Trac Precision Solutions, said Coolbrook’s decision to establish a long-term framework reflects confidence in the company’s precision engineering capability and manufacturing discipline. Joonas Rauramo, chief executive of Coolbrook, stated that partnering with Trac marks an important milestone as the company advances the industrial scale-up of its RotoDynamic Heater technology. Sachin Agarwal, chairman and managing director of PTC Industries, noted the collaboration reinforces the Group’s strategy of building enduring partnerships around advanced and future-oriented technologies.
Trac Precision Solutions, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of PTC Industries, is a UK-based manufacturer of high-precision components serving aerospace, defence, power generation, and emerging clean technology sectors. While the MoU is non-binding in nature except for confidentiality and related provisions, it establishes a structured five-year framework intended to support long-term manufacturing collaboration.
