Patel Engineering Limited has been awarded a significant contract valued at ₹230.70 crore for pre-construction works on the 1,125 MW Dorjilung Hydroelectric Power Project in . The project is a joint venture between Limited, Druk Green Power Corporation Limited, and Company Limited.

The Dorjilung Hydroelectric Power Project represents a landmark initiative in Bhutan’s energy sector. As Bhutan’s largest hydro project under the Public–Private Partnership model, it aims to support the nation’s domestic energy needs while facilitating the export of surplus clean power to India, enhancing regional energy security. recognises the strategic importance of this project and is committed to its successful execution.

Under the contract, Patel Engineering will undertake civil and hydromechanical works, including the construction of two diversion tunnels with diameters of 11.0 m and lengths of 930 m and 821 m, respectively. The project also includes an intermediate adit of 7 m diameter and 116 m length, and a highway road tunnel of D-shaped cross section measuring 11 m × 7.5 m and 500 m in length. Additionally, four sets of vertical lift fixed wheel gates will be installed as part of the hydromechanical works.

The construction period for the project is set at 300 days, with a Defects Notification Period of one year. The project site is located approximately 7 km from Autsho town in Mongar Dzongkhag, Bhutan, marking it as a critical infrastructure development for the region.
