Laxmi Organic Industries is facing an appeal from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL). The appeal challenges the final order passed by the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) in favour of Laxmi Organic on 17 September 2025.

The appeal, filed by MSEDCL, includes an application for condonation of a 116-day delay, which has not yet been admitted by APTEL. The Tribunal will consider the appeal only if it allows the application for condonation of delay. Laxmi Organic believes the appeal is not sustainable, as the matter had been technically examined and adjudicated by MERC before the final order was issued.

If APTEL admits the appeal and grants a stay on the final order, Laxmi Organic may face a potential financial impact of approximately ₹407.27 million, along with any applicable interest. The company is closely monitoring the situation and will update stakeholders on any developments.
