Intellect Design Arena has announced a significant deal with one of India’s leading e-commerce giants, which boasts a registered user base of over 500 million. The e-commerce leader has chosen Intellect’s Purple Fabric Accounts Payable to overhaul its financial operations and streamline workflows across its vast network of sellers and partners.
The e-commerce platform, which offers more than 150 million products across over 75 categories, supports an ecosystem of nearly 1.5 million merchants and partners. Industry estimates place the platform’s gross merchandise value (GMV) at over ₹1.5 lakh crore, with more than 7 million shipments processed daily. This high-volume environment presents complex vendor reconciliations and payments as significant operational challenges, where even minor inefficiencies can impact financial outcomes and ecosystem trust.
Purple Fabric Accounts Payable aims to address these challenges by eliminating manual bottlenecks, enhancing compliance, and delivering cost efficiencies at an enterprise scale. Built on First Principles Thinking and powered by Open Business Impact AI, the platform shifts from task-based automation to autonomous, decision-led financial operations, enabling enterprises to manage complexity, scale, and financial control in real time.
The platform offers several key capabilities, including AI-powered invoice processing, which utilises advanced AI and Cognitive Data Graph technology to ensure high-accuracy data extraction from diverse invoice formats, reducing manual intervention. It also features end-to-end financial workflow automation, with intelligent multi-way matching and automated approvals to accelerate payout cycles and improve vendor trust.
Additionally, the platform’s composable architecture, driven by microservices, allows for customisable workflows and seamless integration with existing complex tech stacks, supporting large-scale transaction volumes without disruption. Embedded security protocols and real-time audit trails ensure regulatory compliance and governance, strengthening financial control and audit readiness.
Debanjan Kumar, CEO of Intellect Digital Technology for Commerce at Intellect Design Arena, stated, “Accounts Payable is no longer a back-office function. It is becoming a critical lever for financial control, working capital efficiency, and ecosystem trust in high-scale digital commerce. For one of India’s leading e-commerce giants, this means the ability to operate with greater speed, precision, and financial discipline, strengthening its competitive edge in a rapidly evolving market.”
