Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) with a significant spending of ₹60.06 crore in the financial year 2025-26. The company’s CSR initiatives have been a part of its broader strategy to contribute to societal development and support various government missions.
HUDCO, a public financial institution, has been actively involved in financing and consultancy services across the housing and infrastructure sectors. With over five decades of expertise, the company has established strong relationships with state governments and their agencies, playing a strategic role in supplementing government efforts in programmes such as PMAY 2.0, Smart City, AMRUT, Swachh Bharat, and Jal Jeevan Mission.
In addition to its CSR activities, HUDCO has maintained a robust financial performance, with a focus on profitability alongside social justice. The company has been consistently profit-making and holds a Navratna status as a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), registered as a Non-Banking Financial Company-Infrastructure Finance Company (NBFC-IFC) with the Reserve Bank of India.
HUDCO’s operational excellence is further highlighted by its strong asset quality, boasting the lowest Non-Performing Assets (NPA) and a high provision coverage ratio. The company’s creditworthiness is affirmed by its highest domestic credit ratings of AAA and international sovereign ratings.
The company also emphasises sustainable lending practices, with substantial investments in renewable energy and net-zero initiatives amounting to ₹20,017 crore, and sanitation and sewerage projects at ₹45,909 crore.
HUDCO’s efforts in capacity building are notable, with a focus on training professionals and in-house employees through domestic and international programmes. The company supports research in the urban sector, enhancing its consultancy offerings in architectural and urban planning, appraisal and monitoring, and environmental studies.
