Heritage Foods Limited has inaugurated a new ice cream manufacturing facility at Shamirpet, near Hyderabad, Telangana, aimed at bolstering its presence in the premium ice cream segment.
The state-of-the-art facility, part of Heritage Foods‘ strategic expansion, boasts a production capacity of approximately 24 million litres per annum. This capacity is scalable to meet future demand growth, aligning with the company’s strategy to enhance its value-added dairy portfolio. The facility is equipped with modern automated production systems and advanced quality control infrastructure, ensuring consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
Currently, Heritage Foods’ ice cream business generates annual revenues of around ₹100 crore. The new facility significantly enhances the company’s ability to scale operations up to five times the current level over the next seven to eight years. This expansion is expected to strengthen Heritage Foods’ growth trajectory by reinforcing its focus on high-margin value-added dairy products, particularly ice cream and desserts, which are witnessing strong consumer demand in urban and semi-urban markets.
The Shamirpet plant will also support Heritage Foods’ expanding distribution network across South and Western India, enabling faster supply and improved serviceability. The Indian ice cream market is experiencing strong structural growth, driven by rising disposable incomes, premiumisation trends, and increasing consumption of packaged dairy products.
Mrs. N Bhuvaneswari, Vice-Chairperson & Managing Director of Heritage Foods, commented on the inauguration, stating that the facility marks an important milestone in the company’s growth journey. She emphasised that the facility will enable Heritage Foods to scale operations, introduce innovative products, and strengthen its presence in key markets while maintaining the quality and trust associated with the Heritage brand.
