Godawari Power and Ispat has received consent to operate a 6.91 MW waste heat recovery-based power plant. The approval was granted by the on 2nd April 2026. The plant, located at the company’s integrated steel plant in Siltara Industrial Area, , Chhattisgarh, utilises waste heat from the flue gas generated by the pellet plant and ferro alloys division.

The company has initiated the trial run and testing phase of the power plant starting from 2nd April 2026. It is anticipated that the plant will commence commercial operations by the end of April 2026.

This development marks a significant step for in enhancing its energy efficiency and sustainability efforts by leveraging waste heat recovery technologies.
