German freight startup Sennder said that it had acquired Uber’s European freight business in an all-stock deal. This will make the U.S. ride hailing company become a minority shareholder.

This is the second acquisition this year by Sennder. The company was founded in 2015 and specifies in full-truck loads.

David Nothacker, CEO and Co-founder of sender said “This acquisition strengthens our position as Europe’s number one digital logistics provider.” Sennder has sought to modernize an industry dominated by family owned trucking firms.

Uber entered the German freight market in 2019. The deal will extend its reach in Europe.

Sender merged with France’s Everoad earlier this year as it targeted 1 billion euros revenue by 2024. Accel, HV Ventures, Project A , Scania and Lakestar have invested 120 million euros in Sennder.
