Kalyan Jewellers has finally headhunted their Chairman and non-executive Independent Director and he is none other than Vinod Rai. TS Kalyanaraman will remain as the Managing Director on the Kalyan Jewellers board.
Vinod Rai has a striking portfolio, he served India as its 11th Comptroller and Auditor General, had previously chaired the United Nations External Auditor’s Panel. Served across Indian government in different capacities and has taken strategic and informed decisions in reforming the Indian public banking system by chairing the Banks Board Bureau.
Rai also has been awarded the Padma Bhushan for his relentless services to India. He has an Economics Master’s degree (Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi) along with a Public Administration Master’s degree (the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, USA,).
