VA Tech Wabag has secured a large repeat order from Saudi Water Authority for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of an advanced technology Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) plant with a capacity of 50 million litres per day (MLD) at Aljouf in the Saudi Arabia. According to WABAG’s order classification, the project falls under the ‘Large’ category for international orders, which typically range between USD 30 million and USD 75 million.

The Letter of Award marks another significant international win for WABAG and further strengthens its long-standing relationship with the Saudi Water Authority. As per the company, the project will be executed over a period of 14 months using state-of-the-art water treatment technology to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for the region.

Under the scope of work, WABAG will design, supply, construct and commission the 50 MLD BWRO facility. The plant will treat raw water sourced from bore well fields that contain rare elements, making advanced and robust pre-treatment essential. To address this, the project will deploy ceramic membrane technology, followed by micron cartridge filtration and reverse osmosis. This multi-layered treatment approach is aimed at ensuring long-term operational reliability, high performance, and consistent water quality.

The company confirmed that it has already received the Letter of Award and that contracting formalities will now commence. The effective date for the start of project execution will be announced after the formal signing of the contract.
