Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL), a leading player in India’s electronics manufacturing industry, has announced its acquisition of a 60% controlling stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited (PTI). This acquisition comes less than a year after TEPL took over Wistron’s India operations in March 2024, furthering Tata Sons’ Chairman N. Chandrasekaran’s vision to make significant investments in India’s growing electronics manufacturing sector.

As part of the deal, TEPL will integrate its operations with PTI, working on aligning teams to ensure a seamless transition. PTI will undergo a rebranding process to reflect the new ownership structure and its future business direction. Despite the changes, PTI will continue to deliver high-quality electronics manufacturing services, maintaining its reputation for excellence.

This acquisition underscores TEPL’s strategic move to expand its footprint in India, solidifying its position as a key player in the country’s electronics manufacturing space. With India becoming a major hub for electronics production, this acquisition is expected to boost Tata Electronics’ capabilities, offering enhanced manufacturing solutions to meet the growing demand from global clients.

Dr Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, stated, “The acquisition of a majority stake in Pegatron Technology India Private Limited fits into Tata Electronics’ strategy of growing our manufacturing footprint. We look forward to a new era of AI, digital, and technology-led manufacturing as we bring up these new facilities and expand our operations in India.”
