Sterlite Technologies secures self-certification for BABA compliance

Sterlite Technologies Inc. (STI), a U.S. subsidiary of STL, has successfully self-certified its optical fiber cable products to meet the U.S. government’s Build America Buy America (BABA) requirements. This certification strengthens STI’s position as a trusted supplier for federally-funded broadband projects under the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program.

The BEAD Program, administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), allocates funds to improve high-speed internet access, especially in rural and underserved areas. As part of the program, BABA regulations require the use of domestically sourced materials for federal infrastructure projects.

STI’s range of products, including high-capacity ribbonized cables and ruggedized designs, will serve both federal and private broadband projects, including those under the BEAD initiative.

This self-certification demonstrates STL’s dedication to promoting domestic manufacturing and supporting the expansion of critical broadband infrastructure in the U.S.
