Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited, India’s largest retail health insurance provider, has expanded its Home Health Care (HHC) initiative to 100 locations, making it the country’s largest provider of doorstep medical care. Launched in July 2023, this initiative now covers over 85% of Star Health Insurance’s customer base, offering cashless, high-quality healthcare at home within just three hours. With no out-of-pocket expenses, this program is transforming healthcare accessibility, availability, and affordability, especially in Bharat.
The HHC program is designed to provide timely medical attention to patients recovering from infectious diseases, ensuring they receive expert care without unnecessary hospitalization. A partner doctor visits the patient’s home to assess their condition, conduct a diagnosis, and provide treatment. Regular in-person follow-ups ensure continuous monitoring, while only severe cases—less than 1%—require hospitalization. This approach reduces the burden on hospitals while delivering quality care in a comfortable home environment.
Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune have seen rapid adoption of this service, with a primary focus on treating viral fever, dengue, enteric fever, acute gastroenteritis, and respiratory infections. Over 15,000 patients have already benefited from Star Health Insurance’s Home Health Care program through a mix of home admissions and consultations.
This significant expansion has been made possible through strategic partnerships with top healthcare providers such as Care24, Portea, Argala, Athulya, and Apollo. By leveraging these collaborations, Star Health Insurance is revolutionizing healthcare delivery, ensuring that patients receive prompt and efficient medical care in the comfort of their homes.
