Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh has assumed the role of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO) at its Corporate Office in Bhubaneswar. With over 35 years of extensive experience in the steel and mining industries, his leadership marks a new chapter for NALCO’s growth and expansion initiatives.
Before joining NALCO, Shri Singh was the Director-in-Charge for Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants and served as a Board Member of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). His tenure at SAIL was instrumental in advancing modernization efforts and contributing to the growth of India’s steel sector in line with the National Steel Policy.
A distinguished alumnus of IIT Dhanbad, Shri Singh holds a degree in Mining Machinery Engineering (1989) and an MBA in Marketing. He began his career at Bhilai Steel Plant’s Iron Ore Mine and has since held pivotal roles in operations and leadership across SAIL’s integrated steel plants, including BSP, BSL, DSP, and ISP. His expertise encompasses mining, blast furnace operations, maintenance, and plant operations.
As CMD of NALCO, Shri Singh is expected to drive the company’s expansion programs and spearhead new projects, enhancing its position as a leader in the aluminium industry. His strategic vision and deep industry knowledge promise to elevate NALCO’s contributions to India’s industrial growth.
