Sanghvi Movers Limited (SML), known as India’s and Asia’s largest crane rental company and counted among the top five globally, has taken a major step toward strengthening its long-term growth roadmap. The company has signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Action Construction Equipment Limited (ACE), marking a collaborative milestone that aligns directly with SML’s ambitious ELEVATE 2030 strategy, particularly its Product Portfolio Diversification vision.

The agreement was formalized at EXCON 2025 and underscores SML’s intent to build a stronger, more self-reliant equipment ecosystem in India. Through this partnership, SML will introduce a substantial volume of indigenously manufactured heavy slew cranes into its already extensive fleet. These additions—which include both truck cranes and crawler cranes—are expected to enhance operational efficiency, broaden service capabilities, and reinforce the company’s leadership position in the heavy-lifting industry.

A key dimension of this MoU is its alignment with national priorities. By deepening the adoption of Indian-made heavy lifting equipment, SML is contributing meaningfully to the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the Make in India program. Reducing dependence on imports in such a capital-intensive domain is a strategic shift that supports domestic innovation while strengthening the country’s industrial foundation.

The collaboration also lays out a long-term framework where SML will progressively expand its crane offerings with ACE-manufactured machines. ACE, on its part, will extend priority access to its engineering resources, customization support, and high-quality technical service to ensure the machines meet the demanding project needs of SML’s nationwide clientele. This synergy is expected to deliver faster project turnaround, improved cost efficiencies, and greater reliability for customers across sectors including infrastructure, renewable energy, industrial construction, and heavy engineering.

Beyond operational benefits, the partnership has wider economic implications. The increased deployment of locally manufactured cranes is well-positioned to boost import substitution, create stronger domestic supply chains, and accelerate skill development in specialized equipment handling. It also enhances employment opportunities across manufacturing, maintenance, and field operations while fostering advanced technology practices within India.
