The Hinduja family has retained its position as the wealthiest family in the United Kingdom, topping The Sunday Times Rich List 2026 with a fortune estimated at £38 billion. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja and family have secured the top position on the prestigious annual ranking.
Representing the 111-year-old transnational conglomerate Hinduja Group, the family continues to demonstrate strong global business resilience despite ongoing economic uncertainty and shifting policy landscapes worldwide.
For more than a century, the Group’s growth has been anchored in the founding philosophy of Late Shri Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja: “My Dharma is to work so that I can give.” The philosophy continues to influence the Group’s business approach, balancing commercial expansion with contributions toward economic progress, employment generation, infrastructure development, and community welfare across global markets.
Operating across 38 countries, the Hinduja Group has investments spanning mobility, digital technology, banking and financial services, media, project development, lubricants and specialty chemicals, energy, real estate, trading, and healthcare.
Over the past year, the Group has also strengthened its focus on India’s electric mobility ecosystem through investments in EV charging infrastructure, underlining its push toward sustainable and future-ready technologies.
Apart from business, the Hinduja family continues its philanthropic initiatives through the Hinduja Foundation, focusing on education, healthcare, sustainable rural development, and water conservation projects across multiple geographies.
The Sunday Times Rich List 2026 features around 350 entries. Other prominent names on the list include David and Simon Reuben and family, Sir Leonard Blavatnik, Idan Ofer, the Weston family, Christopher Harborne, Nik Storonsky, Alex Gerko, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and Igor and Dmitry Bukhman.
