Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a West Central Railway project worth Rs 244.33 crore related to the upgradation of the electric traction system in the Jabalpur Division.
According to the company’s exchange filing, the project involves design, modification, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 132kV/55kV Scott connected traction substations and switching posts between the Itarsi and Shridham section under West Central Railway.
The project is aimed at upgrading the railway electric traction system from 1x25kV to 2x25kV to support a 3000 MT loading target for the railway network.
RVNL said the contract includes traction substations, switching posts with AT feeding systems, and associated railway electrification infrastructure, excluding SCADA systems.
The execution timeline for the project is 18 months, while the total contract value stands at Rs 244.32 crore including applicable taxes.
The company also clarified that the order falls under the normal course of business and does not involve any related party transaction.
