RPP Infra Projects Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the Water Resources Department, Tamil Nadu, for executing flood mitigation works linked to the proposed Global Sports City at Semmancheri in Chennai. The total value of the work order stands at ₹52,17,05,486.

The contract has been awarded by the Water Resources Department, Tamil Nadu, under the Superintending Engineer, Palar Basin Circle, Chepauk, Chennai. The project is aimed at strengthening flood management infrastructure in and around the upcoming Global Sports City site at Semmancheri, a fast-developing corridor in the southern part of Chennai.

Project scope and key details

The scope of work includes the formation of new tanks, construction of peripheral earthen drains, development of cut-and-cover channels, and capacity enhancement of surrounding water bodies. These measures are expected to significantly improve stormwater management and reduce flood risks in the region, particularly during heavy monsoon spells.

The project is classified as a domestic contract and is scheduled to be completed within 12 months. The order carries standard contract conditions, including a performance security clause.

The total consideration for the contract is ₹52.17 crore, further strengthening the company’s order book in the water resources and irrigation segment.
