PTC Industries announced that its subsidiary Trac Precision Solutions has entered into a five-year strategic collaboration with Coolbrook Oy to support the development and manufacturing of components for the company’s RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) technology.

The agreement establishes a structured framework under which Coolbrook intends to appoint Trac as its preferred machining partner for aerofoil components used in RDH systems. The collaboration will cover the manufacturing of first-generation RDH units as well as support for future industrial scale-up of the technology.

Focus on industrial electrification

Coolbrook’s RDH technology is designed to electrify high-temperature industrial processes and can reach temperatures of up to 1700°C, offering a pathway to replace fossil-fuel combustion in energy-intensive sectors such as steel, cement, petrochemicals, and chemicals.

The partnership will involve design-for-manufacture collaboration, production readiness initiatives, and long-term manufacturing support, enabling scalable production as the technology moves toward commercial deployment.

Strategic implications for the company

The collaboration represents a step in PTC Industries’ expansion into advanced manufacturing for industrial electrification and decarbonisation technologies.

Through this partnership, the company aims to strengthen its participation in global clean-technology supply chains, while building long-term engineering collaboration with Coolbrook during the commercialisation phase of RDH systems.

While the memorandum of understanding is non-binding except for confidentiality provisions, it establishes a structured five-year framework intended to support long-term manufacturing collaboration between the two companies.
