Power Grid Corporation of India wins bid for Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV Transmission Project

The project involves the development of a 765/400 kV substation at a strategic location near Ghiror in the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has been declared the successful bidder under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) for the establishment of the transmission system to evacuate power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase IV (Part-4: 3.5 GW), Part A. The company has received the Letter of Intent (LoI) for the project on November 25, 2024.

The project involves the development of a 765/400 kV substation at a strategic location near Ghiror in the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. It also includes the construction of 765 kV and 400 kV transmission lines spanning the states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the project will involve the augmentation and extension of bays at under-construction and existing sub-stations across these states.

This transmission system will play a key role in facilitating the evacuation of power from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone, contributing to India’s renewable energy goals and the strengthening of its power infrastructure.
