Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has successfully incorporated a joint venture company, Rajasthan Power Grid Transmission Company Limited (RPTCL), in collaboration with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RVPN). The incorporation was formalized on November 27, 2024, and the Certificate of Incorporation was received on December 31, 2024.
This joint venture will focus on the development of the Intra State Transmission System in the State of Rajasthan. POWERGRID holds a 74% equity share in the joint venture, with RVPN holding the remaining 26%. The authorized share capital of RPTCL is ₹5 lakh, with the same amount subscribed and paid-up.
The formation of the joint venture has been approved by the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Government of India, as conveyed in their letter dated September 12, 2024.
The objective of RPTCL is to enhance the power transmission infrastructure in Rajasthan, contributing to the state’s energy development. The company is in its early stages, with no commercial operations initiated yet.
