NHPC Limited on Tuesday, April 16, announced the commercial operation of Unit 4 (200 MW) of its Parbati-II Hydroelectric Project in Himachal Pradesh. With this, the entire 800 MW (4×200 MW) capacity of the Parbati-II project is now commercially operational.
The company had earlier declared commercial operation for Unit 1, Unit 2, and Unit 3 (200 MW each) from 00:00 hours on April 1, 2025. Following the successful completion of the trial run of Unit 4, NHPC confirmed its commercial operation from 00:00 hours on April 16, 2025.
Parbati-II is one of NHPC’s major hydroelectric projects in Himachal Pradesh and contributes significantly to the country’s clean energy ambitions. The project is expected to enhance grid stability and strengthen the power supply in the northern region.
The announcement was made as part of NHPC’s regulatory disclosure under SEBI Listing Obligations.
