NHPC Limited has declared the Commercial Operation Date (CoD) of Unit-2 of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project after the successful completion of its trial run. The 250 MW unit has been declared commercially operational from 00:00 hours on December 23, 2025.
The Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project has a total planned capacity of 2,000 MW, comprising eight units of 250 MW each. The project is located on the Subansiri River and spans the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. With the declaration of CoD for Unit-2, a part of the project’s installed capacity has now entered commercial operations.
NHPC has stated that the Commercial Operation Dates of the remaining units of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project will be informed separately as and when they are declared. The announcement has been made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 and follows earlier disclosures issued by the company from time to time.
