NBCC (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) for the development of the proposed business district “Naveen Nagpur.” The MoU was signed on 8 September 2025 by Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC, and Shri Sanjay Meena, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner of NMRDA, in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and senior officials.
Under the agreement, NBCC has been appointed as the Project Management Consultant for the project, which covers around 1,710 acres (692 hectares). Of this, 1,000 acres have been earmarked for the business district, while 710 acres are reserved for future expansion.
Naveen Nagpur will be developed as a modern business and finance centre on a plug-and-play model. Planned features include underground utility tunnels, a district cooling system, automated waste collection, and a segregation plant. The district will provide commercial infrastructure for start-ups, MSMEs, IT companies, and corporate offices, alongside residential and mixed-use developments in line with town planning guidelines.
The project is expected to be executed in phases and is aimed at positioning Naveen Nagpur as a strategic growth hub for commerce, technology, and urban development.
NBCC confirmed that the signing of the MoU is in the ordinary course of its business operations.
