Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL), in partnership with L’Oréal India, has officially announced the launch of India’s first fully women-operated warehouse in Indore. The announcement was made through a press release filed with stock exchanges on November 24, 2025.
According to the filing, the new facility places women at the centre of warehouse operations—marking a significant shift in India’s logistics and supply-chain ecosystem. The warehouse is entirely run by women, handling end-to-end functions such as inventory management, order processing, dispatch operations and safety management.
MLL stated that the initiative focuses on enhancing gender diversity across traditionally male-dominated roles. To prepare the team for operational responsibilities, the staff underwent specialised training in self-defence, POSH guidelines, fire safety, first aid, and leadership-oriented capability-building.
Strategic role in central India
The women-led warehouse will support L’Oréal India’s distribution across central markets including Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Ratlam, Singrauli, Rewa, Betul, Damoh, Neemuch and several other regions. It aims to improve replenishment cycles, reduce transit times and strengthen supply-chain reliability for L’Oréal’s extensive product portfolio.
MLL’s in-house warehouse management system has been fully deployed in the facility, enabling real-time visibility, tighter inventory control and optimised fulfilment workflows.
Leadership comments
Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO of Mahindra Logistics, said the initiative addresses the need for broader female participation in India’s growing logistics sector and challenges long-standing norms within the supply-chain industry.
Arun Saravanakumar, Director – Supply Chain, L’Oréal India, called the launch a “landmark moment,” reaffirming the company’s commitment to gender parity and inclusive workforce development.
