Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced a significant order win from the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRCL) for the design and construction of Phase 1, Line-2 of the Agra Metro network. This project is aimed at improving urban mobility in Agra and involves the construction of a 15.09 km elevated viaduct, 14 stations, and a 2.61 km depot connecting Sadar Bazar to PAC Depot.
The scope of work also includes architectural finishes for the stations, as well as electrical and mechanical works. The project is scheduled for completion within 30 months, adhering to a tight deadline.
Commenting on the win, Mr. S V Desai, Whole-time Director & Senior Executive Vice-President (Infrastructure) at L&T, emphasized the company’s leading role in urban infrastructure development and its continued contribution to the modernization of India’s metro networks.
