Kernex Microsystems, in joint venture with VRRC, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from South Central Railways, Secunderabad, for a major railway safety upgrade project. The JV has been awarded the contract for the upgradation of the Kavach system from Version 3.2 to Version 4.0 in the Sadashivpet Road (Excl.) – Bidar – Parli Vaijnath – Parbhani (Excl.) section.
The total contract value stands at ₹21.03 crore, inclusive of 18% GST, and the project is scheduled for completion within 24 months from the date of the LoA.
This order, classified as domestic, is part of India’s continued push toward enhancing railway safety through indigenous technology like Kavach. Notably, this project does not involve any related party transactions or promoter group interests.
Kavach is India’s Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system designed to prevent collisions and ensure efficient railway operations, making this a significant win for Kernex Microsystems in the railway tech sector.
