HBL Engineering Limited (formerly HBL Power Systems Limited) announced today that it has received a significant order worth ₹1,522.40 crore (plus applicable taxes) from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. The contract involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of the Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), branded as “KAVACH,” across 2,200 locomotives.
The project, categorized as a domestic order, is scheduled for completion within 12 months from the issuance of the purchase order. Notably, the transaction does not fall under the category of related party transactions, and the promoters have no vested interest in this deal.
This development marks a major milestone for HBL Engineering Limited following its name change, effective November 13, 2024, as approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Despite the transition, the company continues to operate under its former name, HBL Power Systems Limited, until the legal updates in banking, KYC, and regulatory documents are finalized.
