Godawari Power and Ispat Limited informed stock exchanges that it has obtained the Consent to Operate for its Ari Dongri Iron Ore Mines at enhanced capacity from the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board. The approval was granted via a letter dated 09 February 2026, uploaded at 7:00 pm (IST), in compliance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.
This development follows the Environmental Clearance issued on 31 January 2026 by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Chhattisgarh, under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. With this clearance, the company is authorised to expand the mining capacity of the Ari Dongri Iron Ore Mines, located at Village Kachche, District Uttar Bastar Kanker, Chhattisgarh, from 2.35 MTPA to 6 MTPA. Alongside the capacity increase, the mining lease area has also been expanded from 138.96 hectares to 213.01 hectares.
Importantly, Godawari Power has confirmed that mining operations at the enhanced capacity have commenced with immediate effect, marking a significant operational milestone. The expansion is expected to strengthen raw material security for the company’s downstream steel operations and support long-term production growth.
The latest approval builds on the company’s earlier disclosures dated 10 October 2025, 13 November 2025, 07 January 2026 and 31 January 2026, highlighting steady progress on regulatory clearances for the project. With both environmental approval and consent to operate now in place, the Ari Dongri expansion is set to play a crucial role in Godawari Power’s growth strategy going forward.
