State-owned Engineers India Ltd (EIL) is planning to enter the nuclear energy sector as an extension of its long-standing expertise in the hydrocarbon domain, while also exploring new business opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, company chairperson Vartika Shukla confirmed to PTI.
EIL, a leading engineering consultancy and project management firm, has primarily worked on oil and gas as well as petrochemical projects. Now, the company is actively engaging in discussions to expand into nuclear energy, including conventional nuclear projects and small modular reactors (SMRs).
Speaking on the sidelines of the India Energy Week to PTI, Shukla emphasized that EIL’s expertise in complex engineering solutions positions it well to contribute to India’s nuclear energy ambitions.
Apart from nuclear energy, Engineers India is also ramping up its presence in the overseas market, particularly in MENA, where it aims to secure more contracts in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
