Blue Star Limited reported strong financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2025.
For the quarter ending March 31, 2025, Blue Star recorded a 20.8% increase in revenue from operations, reaching ₹4018.96 crore, up from ₹3327.77 crore in the corresponding period last year. Operating profit for the quarter rose by 15.5% to ₹279.40 crore, though the operating margin slightly declined from 7.3% to 7.0%. Profit before exceptional items and tax grew to ₹248.82 crore, marking a 16.2% rise, while net profit excluding exceptional items stood at ₹194.00 crore, up from ₹159.71 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.
The company also saw an increase in other income, which rose to ₹23.99 crore from ₹12.39 crore a year earlier. This was attributed to higher cash surplus levels, reflecting disciplined working capital management. Tax expenses for the quarter remained stable at ₹54.82 crore.
For the full fiscal year 2024-25, Blue Star’s revenue from operations grew by 23.6% to ₹11,976.65 crore, compared to ₹9685.36 crore in the previous year. The company’s operating profit increased by 31.8% to ₹875.92 crore, with an improved operating margin of 7.3% versus 6.9% in the prior year. Profit before exceptional items and tax rose sharply by 38.6% to ₹772.42 crore. Net profit for the year, including exceptional income of ₹10.37 crore, stood at ₹591.28 crore, reflecting a year-over-year growth of 42.7% before adjusting for exceptional items.
Other income for the year increased to ₹75.00 crore from ₹47.42 crore, also due to stronger cash positions. The company reported a net cash balance of ₹640 crore at the end of the fiscal year, up from ₹456 crore the previous year. Finance costs declined to ₹48.80 crore from ₹58.08 crore, primarily due to reduced borrowings.
Capital employed as of March 31, 2025, stood at ₹2427.28 crore, higher than the ₹2156.70 crore recorded a year earlier, driven by capital investments. The effective tax rate for FY25 was 24.7%, slightly lower than the 25.6% recorded in FY24. Earnings per share for the year increased to ₹28.76, compared to ₹20.77 in the previous year.
