AXISCADES Technologies Limited has announced a strategic partnership with OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal, a subsidiary of Embraer, marking a significant step in expanding India’s aerospace manufacturing and maintenance ecosystem. The collaboration focuses on aerospace manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), airframe engineering, and certification services for both commercial and military aircraft platforms.

Aligned with its long-term strategy to move up the aerospace value chain, AXISCADES is prioritising high-value and service-led aerospace activities. Under the strategic agreement, the company will work with OGMA to provide maintenance and support services for Embraer aircraft and fleets from other global manufacturers operating in India. The Embraer presence in India includes VVIP and VIP aircraft, Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platforms, along with a range of commercial aircraft, making the partnership operationally relevant across defence and civil aviation segments.

The alliance brings together complementary strengths. AXISCADES contributes deep capabilities in aircraft design, platform conversions, avionics, radar systems, electronic warfare solutions, and drone technologies. OGMA adds more than a century of proven experience in airframe and engine MRO, along with globally recognised certification and engineering expertise. This combination is expected to create a comprehensive end-to-end aerospace services offering tailored for regional requirements.

Beyond India, the partnership has a clear international outlook. Both companies will jointly explore aerospace and MRO business opportunities across India, the UAE, and the wider Middle East and North Africa region. The collaboration also benefits from OGMA’s established OEM network, which includes relationships with leading global aerospace players such as Embraer, Airbus Defence, Rolls-Royce, and Pratt & Whitney, enhancing access to advanced platforms and long-term maintenance programmes.

A key pillar of this collaboration is infrastructure-led growth within India. AXISCADES is in the process of developing one of the country’s largest integrated aerospace and defence manufacturing and MRO hubs near the Bengaluru International Airport. The upcoming facility is designed to support dedicated aircraft hangars, speed shops, engine shops, a welding centre of excellence, strategic electronics manufacturing, system integration, and certification testing. This integrated approach is aimed at supporting complex aircraft programmes across defence and civil aviation.
