Arkade Developers has announced a strategic acquisition move with the approval of a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) to acquire 100% equity in Filmistan Private Limited (FPL). The decision, made at the company’s Board meeting on July 3, 2025, will result in FPL becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Arkade Developers.
Filmistan Private Limited, established in 1943, is engaged in the manufacturing, production, distribution, and exhibition of cinematographic films and pictures. Though modest in size—with a net worth of ₹5.54 lakh and a turnover of ₹18.87 lakh as of March 31, 2024—FPL has a longstanding presence in India’s entertainment industry.
The acquisition, valued at ₹182.95 crore and to be executed via cash consideration, is expected to be completed within a month. While the acquired business is rooted in cinema, Arkade Developers aims to leverage this deal to support its expansion plans in the real estate sector. No regulatory approvals are needed for the acquisition, and it is not classified as a related party transaction.
Arkade’s strategic move underlines its intent to broaden operational capabilities and create new synergies for real estate development by integrating Filmistan’s assets and presence.
