Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has announced India’s largest order for eight 70-tonne bollard pull tugs under the “Make in India” initiative. The ₹450 crore contract has been awarded to Cochin Shipyard Ltd and aims to bolster local manufacturing while supporting the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Key Details of the Order:
- Fleet Expansion: Adani’s tug fleet will grow to 152 with this order.
- Delivery Timeline: The tugs will be delivered between December 2026 and May 2028.
- Previous Collaboration: Cochin Shipyard previously delivered two 62-tonne bollard pull ASD tugs ahead of schedule and is working on three more for Adani Ports.
