ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has secured a major renewable energy milestone after receiving a Letter of Award (LOA) for a 220 MW solar power project integrated with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project has been awarded by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) as part of its 440 MW tender for the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The tender was conducted under tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) guidelines, with an e-reverse auction held in September 2025. ACME Solar emerged as a successful bidder for half of the total capacity, reinforcing its growing presence in India’s utility-scale renewable energy and storage segment.
The awarded project is designed to supply power with a maximum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 35%, along with four hours of daily peak power delivery. This includes two hours of supply during the morning peak and two hours during the evening peak, while maintaining an annual availability level of 95%. The evening peak energy requirement will be met through charging from the solar plant itself, whereas the morning peak power will be supported by free-of-cost energy supplied by the procurer during night hours.
As part of the solar park framework, RUMSL will provide land as well as evacuation infrastructure above the 33 kV level, reducing execution risks and improving project viability. The project also benefits from reduced GST rates that have already been passed through, and it will be required to comply only with the ALMM List-I norms under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
The project will combine solar generation with battery energy storage to ensure reliable peak power supply over a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) tenure of 25 years. The PPA will be signed with Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) along with RUMSL.
