After more than ten years with the company, Gunjan Patidar, co-founder and chief technology officer of food aggregator Zomato, has left.
His resignation was tendered today.
“Gunjan Patidar was one of the first few employees of Zomato and built the core tech systems for the company. Over the the last ten plus years, he also nurtured a stellar tech leadership team that is capable of taking on the mantle of leading the tech function going forward. His contribution to building Zomato has been invaluable,” said Zomato in its regulatory filing.
Another significant employee has left the company, after Zomato co-founder Mohit Gupta’s departure in November of last year after a four and a half year tenure.
Rahul Ganjoo, the former head of food delivery for Zomato, had left the firm in November. Siddharth Jhawar, the head of the company’s Intercity Legends service, also announced his departure from the company a week ago.
In the most recent period, the food aggregator let go less than 3% of its whole workforce. According to the business, the firings are related to regular performance.
Zomato’s net loss decreased from ₹434.9 crore in the same quarter last fiscal year to 250.8 crore during the September quarter. In the meantime, operational revenue increased by 62.20 percent to ₹1,661.3 crore.
Sales for the company’s meal delivery service increased by barely 22% to ₹6,631 crore in the third quarter of this fiscal year from ₹5,410 crore in the same quarter last year.
Zomato’s shares closed Monday at ₹60.26 per share on the BSE, up 1.52 percent.
