
A cyberattack on the airline resulted in a magnanimous data breach which has affected nearly 4.5 million of its customers.
According to Air India, several details of the passengers including passport, and credit card information were compromised in the cyberattack, according to Hindustan Times.
“As part of our commitment, we would like to inform you that SITA PSS, our data processor of the passenger service system, recently notified Air India of a data security breach involving personal data of certain passengers including yours”, said Air India communicating with a passenger whose data got burgled, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
Furthermore, the airline says that the breach involved some personal data registered between 26th August 2012 and 20th February 2021.
