The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) has announced a fresh fleet rationalisation move with the sale of its Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) Jag Vishnu, reinforcing its strategy of active asset management.
The company has contracted to sell the 2002-built VLGC Jag Vishnu, with a cargo capacity of about 77,922 cubic metres, to an unaffiliated third party. The agreement was executed on December 26, 2025, and the vessel is scheduled to be delivered to the new owner in Q4 FY26.
Following this transaction, G E Shipping’s owned fleet stands at 39 vessels, reflecting a diversified presence across tanker and dry bulk segments. The fleet comprises 25 tankers, including five crude tankers, sixteen product tankers, and four LPG carriers, along with 14 dry bulk carriers consisting of two Capesize, ten Kamsarmax, and two Supramax vessels. The total fleet capacity aggregates to approximately 3.17 million deadweight tonnes (DWT).
In addition to the VLGC sale, the company has outlined further fleet actions as part of its ongoing portfolio optimisation. G E Shipping has contracted to acquire one secondhand Very Large Gas Carrier and one secondhand Ultramax dry bulk carrier, while also planning to sell its Kamsarmax dry bulk vessel “Jag Aarati.” These purchase and sale transactions are also expected to be completed during Q4 FY26.
