Larsen & Toubro (L&T), through its Renewables (RENU) vertical, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ACWA Power for the Renewables & Grid scope of the ambitious Yanbu Green Ammonia Project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The project, part of the larger Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub, is designed as a fully integrated facility with its own captive renewable electricity generation powered entirely by solar and wind energy. Under the MoU, L&T will collaborate with ACWA Power to design and optimize the Renewables & Grid infrastructure, which includes Solar PV, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plants, along with associated substations and transmission lines.
The partnership aims to establish a framework to achieve optimal performance targets, leveraging L&T’s extensive EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) expertise. Upon acceptance of the final proposal, L&T will enter into an EPC contract, ensuring seamless integration of diverse renewable technologies with high standards of safety, quality, sustainability, and performance.
This collaboration reinforces L&T’s leadership in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects and highlights its commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s green energy initiatives.
