N R Agarwal Industries reported a fire at its Unit-I plant located at Plot No.169, Phase II, GIDC, Vapi, Gujara on Friday, September 19, 2025. The incident occurred at 6:15 p.m., originating in the plant’s electrical transformer before spreading to the Electrical PCC room, VFDs, ACBs, and LT and HT cables.
The fire was swiftly controlled using in-house firefighting systems, with additional support from GIDC Vapi fire tenders. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties. The company has an Industrial All Risk Insurance Policy, and a claim has already been lodged.
The estimated financial loss due to the fire is approximately Rs. 4 crore, with a production loss of around 2,300 MT. Despite the setback, N R Agarwal Industries expects the plant to resume operations within seven days.
This incident highlights the importance of robust industrial safety measures and timely insurance coverage in mitigating unforeseen losses.
