MOIL Limited, India’s largest producer of manganese ore, has announced a price revision for various grades of manganese ore, effective from March 1, 2025. The state-owned company has increased the prices of key ore categories, reflecting changes in demand, supply conditions, and international market trends.
Price Revisions for March 2025:
- Ferro-Grade Manganese Ore (Mn 44% and above): Increased by 10% compared to February 2025 prices.
- Ferro-Grade Manganese Ore (Mn below 44%): Increased by 6.5%.
- Chemical-Grade Manganese Ore: Prices have been raised by 6.5%.
- SMGR (Silico-Manganese Grade Ore) and Fines: Prices remain unchanged from the previous month.
- Electrolytic Manganese Dioxide (EMD): The basic price for EMD remains fixed at ₹2,05,000 per metric tonne.
MOIL follows a monthly pricing mechanism based on prevailing market trends, domestic demand, and fluctuations in international manganese ore prices. The price hike for ferro-grade manganese ore indicates strong demand from the steel and ferroalloy industries, which rely heavily on high-grade manganese for alloy production. The unchanged pricing for SMGR and fines suggests that supply conditions for lower-grade ores remain stable.
MOIL remains a key player in India’s mining sector, with its pricing decisions closely monitored by industry stakeholders. The latest price increase reflects strong demand fundamentals and market adjustments in response to economic conditions.
