Nokia has won a significant multi-year, multi-billion dollar contract with Bharti Airtel to deploy 4G and 5G network equipment across major cities and states in India. As part of the agreement, Nokia will provide its advanced 5G AirScale solutions, including base stations, baseband units, and Massive MIMO radios, all powered by its energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology.
This deployment will enhance Airtel’s network with superior 5G capacity and coverage, supporting the operator’s ongoing network evolution. Nokia will also modernize Airtel’s existing 4G network with multiband radios and baseband equipment, which can seamlessly support 5G technology.
In addition, Airtel will utilize Nokia’s MantaRay Network Management system, leveraging AI-powered tools for digital deployment, optimization, and network management, ensuring efficient monitoring and technical support.
