An Air India flight operating from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi early Monday after a bomb threat was received, according to the Delhi Police. The aircraft, flight AI 119, is currently stationed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where all standard safety protocols are being followed to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

The flight, which took off from Mumbai at around 2 am, was en route to New York’s JFK airport when it was diverted due to the security concern. The threat, reportedly received via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), prompted the immediate diversion of the aircraft.

Upon landing in Delhi, passengers were made to deplane at 4:10 am, leaving their belongings on board as part of the safety procedures. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation, and security measures are in place to manage the situation.

This incident follows a similar event last month when another Air India flight from Mumbai was diverted due to a bomb threat discovered in the aircraft’s washroom.
