Mitsubishi is set to unveil an exciting new addition to its SUV lineup this month, with the Japanese brand teasing an all-new seven-seater SUV ahead of the Philippine Motor Show. Although the Japanese brand is no longer available in India, it still maintains an excellent lineup overseas, particularly in the ASEAN region.
Here’s what to expect in the Mitsubishi all-new seven-seater SUV
The teaser shows the SUV’s design language, suggesting it appears like an expanded version of the XForce, currently offered in areas such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and a few other ASEAN nations. As shown in the teaser, this new SUV will be similar to the XForce in many ways, but it will also have some unique style elements and an extended wheelbase as key differentiators.
Inside, the seven-seater SUV will feature a familiar cabin layout like XForce but with a few enhancements to cater to its larger size. The XForce already offers a premium feel with its tech-laden interior, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 8-speaker audio system developed through a collaboration with Yamaha.
Powering the new seven-seater SUV will likely be the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine found in the XForce, delivering 105hp and 141Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission and offers four selectable drive modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud, ensuring that the SUV is well-equipped for various driving conditions, whether on city streets or more challenging terrains.
