Deadpool & Wolverine promises to be a cameo extravaganza, with the third installment of the Deadpool franchise bringing back a slew of beloved MCU characters.

As the film nears its premiere, a tantalizing new teaser has dropped, teasing the return of Wolverine’s (Hugh Jackman) arch-nemesis, Sabretooth, aka Victor Creed. Sabretooth first leapt into live-action in the 2000 X-Men film, alongside many other iconic mutants. The teaser sets the stage for an epic showdown between Wolverine and Sabretooth, only to have Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) crash the moment with his trademark irreverence.

“Seriously, you look ridiculous!” Deadpool quips as he pulls multiple blades from Wolverine’s body. “People have waited decades for this fight. It’s not going to be easy.”

Deadpool captures the anticipation we all feel. While Sabretooth had minimal dialogue in his original film appearance, he symbolizes a long-standing rivalry straight from the pages of the comics. Tyler Mane reprises his role after more than two decades, a nostalgic move that may leave Liev Schreiber, who portrayed Sabretooth in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, feeling a bit sidelined.

Who is Sabretooth in ‘Deadpool 3’?

Sabretooth’s origins are as complex as they come in comic lore, with his feud with Wolverine stemming from various twists and turns. Initially, there was even a storyline where Sabretooth was considered Wolverine’s father, a notion that underscored their deep-seated animosity and shared path through the Weapon X program.

While comic canon eventually scrapped the father-son angle, the movies took their own liberties, presenting Sabretooth as Wolverine’s half-brother in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Whether Deadpool & Wolverine adheres to this cinematic backstory or returns to the character’s roots, one thing is clear: fans are eager to witness these iconic characters clash once more, claws and all.
