Andaman and Nicobar Islands recorded 40 new cases of COVID-19 an official said on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 3332. Almost 39,205 samples were tested till Sunday for Coronavirus.

Out of the 40 new cases, 38  were detected during local contact tracing and two were airport arrivals, the official said. All the passengers are also required to undergo rapid antigen test for COVID-19 at the airport on arrival, he added.

There are 331 active cases currently and 2951 have recovered, with 47 recoveries in the last 24 hours. So far 50 deaths have been recorded in the islands.
