On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Maharashtra and Goa, where he first offered prayers at Shri Saibaba Samadhi Temple, and then he started development works worth over Rs. 7500 crores from key sectors like health, rail, road, oil and gas. PM Modi also took part in the Jal Pujan of Nilwande Dam.

Addressing a programme in Maharashtra’s Shirdi, PM Modi said: “Those doing vote politics in the name of farmers have made you yearn for every drop of water. Today Jal Puja has been performed on Nilwande project, it was approved in 1970, meaning this project was pending for 5 decades. When our government came, work on it was done rapidly. The central government is busy completing 26 more irrigation projects of Maharashtra that were pending for decades. I have a request to all of you that water is God’s gift, not even a single drop of water should be wasted.”

PM Modi also shared glimpses of him performing Jal Pujan of Nilwande Dam. By sharing the pictures, PM wrote: “Jal Pujan of Nilwande Dam is a pivotal moment that marks the end of an extended wait. It also demonstrates our unwavering commitment to harnessing Jal Shakti for the greater good of the public.”

PM inaugurated the new Darshan Queue Complex at the Shri Saibaba Samadhi temple, which is a state-of-the-art modern mega building envisaged to provide comfortable waiting areas for more than 10,000 devotees with all the public amenities.

“Prayed at the Shri Saibaba Samadhi Temple. Sought blessings for the progress of India and the prosperity of every Indian,” said PM Modi after offering prayers at Shirdi Sai Temple.

He ended his day in Maharashtra by distributing Ayushman cards and Svamitva cards to beneficiaries.

Addressing the public, PM Modi also emphasised the importance of improving connectivity and transport for progress and social justice. PM Modi said: “The faster the State of Maharashtra develops, the faster Bharat will develop! We should remember that connectivity will not only strengthen the transport, but will also pave a new path towards ‘Progress’ and ‘Social Justice’.”

After Maharashtra, PM Modi reached Goa where he inaugurated the 37th National Games, being held in Goa for the very first time. Inauguration was done at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao, Goa, where he also addressed the participating athletes.

Inaugurating the 37th National Games in Goa, “It celebrates India’s exceptional sporting prowess,” the PM said.

The 37th National Game is scheduled to be held from 26th October to 9th November, with more than 10,000 athletes from all over the country to compete in 43 sports disciplines across 28 venues.
