We offer our deepest sympathies to India & relatives of the student who died due to Russian shelling: Ukraine

The government of India today gave out an urgent plea to all its Indian citizens in Kharkiv to flee soon for their safety.

On Tuesday morning, Naveen SG, a 21-year-old fourth-year medical student from Karnataka, walked out of his house, where the students had been staying for the past six days, to buy groceries — and came to be the first Indian casualty in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

However, today Ukraine Ambassador to UN Sergiy Kyslytsya aid his condolence to the demise, in a speech he said, “Ukraine deeply mourns that a student from India has become a casualty of this shelling by the Russian Armed Forces in Kharkiv. We offer our deepest sympathies to India & the relatives of the victim.”

However, today one more student from India, the twenty-two-year-old Chandan Jindal, who was studying medicine at Vinnytsia National Medical University, in West-Central Ukraine, died in the morning. He was admitted to the hospital for over a month with blood clots in his brain. Chandan was in 4th year at the medical university in Vinnytsia town.

On February 2, Chandan reportedly had a stroke and was in ICU. His parents conveyed their consent to his unexpected surgery. Moreover, today, the government of India also gave out an urgent plea to all its Indian citizens in Kharkiv to flee soon for their safety.
