Russia commits to not supplying arms to Pakistan

The Russian commitment to no arms supply to Pakistan was followed by an Indian request.

During a meeting between Rajnath Singh, Minister of Defence of India and Sergey Shoygu, Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Russia committed to not supplying any further arms to Pakistan.
The commitment by Russia followed a request by India.
In the meeting, General Shoygu also emphasized Russia’s commitment to the Make in India initiative.
The Ministry of Defense released a statement saying, “It was noted that this meeting coincides with the Indra naval exercises to be conducted by the Indian and Russian navies off the Strait of Malacca over the next two days. There was substantial commonality in positions with respect to challenges at the regional and international levels in the areas of peace and security, reflective of the deep trust and confidence that both sides enjoy as strategic partners.”
